(23)CFD analysis of steam condensation phenomena in the Fukushima Daiichi NPP pressure suppression pool
キーワード:Fukushima Daiichi NPP, severe accident, CFD, two-phase, condensation
During the station black-out which struck the Fukushima Daiichi (1F) nuclear power plant it was recognized an unexpected behavior of the suppression chamber (S/C) pressure. It was assumed that such unprecedented behavior could have been the result of steam condensation and water thermal stratification, however clear evidence was not proven yet. In the present study three-dimensional, Euler-Euler two-phase flow calculations are carried out, in the attempt to clarify of the S/C phenomena during the accident. Given the large dependency of the phenomena on the geometry, two different experiments were selected for physical model validation, thereafter the same models are applied in 1:1 scale model of the 1F S/C. It has been shown how the presence of several holes can increase the condensing bulk temperature for neighboring holes and bring the condensation interface closer to the pool surface, eventually reducing condensation efficiency of the pool.var __chd__ = {'aid':11079,'chaid':'www_objectify_ca'};(function() { var c = document.createElement('script'); c.type = 'text/javascript'; c.async = true;c.src = ( 'https:' == document.location.protocol ?
