ガラス固化技術開発施設（TVF）のガラス固化処理期間の短縮に向けた方策の一つであるTVF3号ガラス溶融炉に対して、ガラス固化技術開発施設（TVF）の現状のガラス溶融炉の課題と対策を基に、次期ガラス溶融炉への要求機能の対策案、施設側の前提条件や制約条件を整理し、候補炉形式の検討を行うとともに適用技術を具体化しガラス固化処理技術開発施設（TVF）における成立性を確認した。
