[2E21] Developement of Passive Debris Cooling System
(7)Applicability evaluation of Heat Resistant Materials
Keywords:Refractory material, MCCI, debris
The Passive debris cooling system provides a means for stably holding the melt core flowing down from the pressure vessel at the bottom of the containment vessel. As a result, breakage of containment boundary by high-temperature molten core and generation of hydrogen due to concrete erosion are suppressed, and events of severe accident are mitigated. In this system, a high melting point heat resistant material is laid on the containment vessel floor to receive and hold a high temperature molten core (corium).
In this presentation, we introduced the heat-resistant erosion rate evaluation model developed in the national project and carried out the actual plant analysis using it. As a result, we found that the result that MCCI was suppressed by laying zirconia refractory material.
