Thermodynamic properties of SiO₂ and Cs₂O have been investigated to elucidate the formation mechanism of insoluble radioactive particles. The experimental condition of chemical equilibrium technique has been established to determine the activities and acitivity coefficients of SiO₂ and Cs₂O to understand the affinity between these two components.
