Thermodynamic properties of SiO2 and Cs2O have been investigated to elucidate the formation mechanism of insoluble radioactive particles. The experimental condition of chemical equilibrium technique has been established to determine the activities and acitivity coefficients of SiO2 and Cs2O to understand the affinity between these two components.
