Under the new national inspection system, which be launched in April 2020, stakeholders themselves are required to capture risks and prevent accidents. PRA is used in nuclear power plants to assess the importance of risks, but there is no clear risk assessment method for nuclear fuel cycle facilities as it is not introduced in the United States.
Since nuclear fuel cycle facilities are diverse, such as a reprocessing facility, an uranium fuel fabrication facility, an uranium enrichment facility, and a spent fuel storage facility, and the characteristics of nuclear fuel materials change from process to process, I invented an assessment method focusing on the potential hazards of nuclear fuel materials.
