Neutrons were produced in the reaction between copper and a 24 GeV/c proton beam at the High Energy Accelerator Mixed Field Facility (CHARM) at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). Steel and concrete shields with various thicknesses were installed and neutron spectra behind the shielding were measured using a Bonner sphere spectrometer.
