A considerable amount of temporary housing is estimated to be required for the people affected by the Nankai Trough Megathrust Earthquake. This study aims to clarify the willingness of private rental housing owners to offer their housing units during this catastrophic event. The owners were surveyed through a questionnaire, which revealed that a significant number of them are prepared to provide housing units, irrespective of the existence of a housing lease program for disaster victims. The study also revealed that some owners are ready to offer housing units to disaster victims regardless of the existence of the program, while others delegate the decision to the management company.
