The Scientific Committee on Solar-Terrestrial Physics (SCOSTEP) is one of the international scientific organizations that the Science Council of Japan (SCJ) has joined on behalf of Japan. SCOSTEP is a thematic organization under the International Science Council (ISC). SCOSTEP runs international interdisciplinary scientific programs and promotes solar-terrestrial physics research by providing the necessary scientific framework for international collaboration and dissemination of the derived scientific knowledge in collaboration with other ISC bodies. Scientists participating in the activities of SCOSTEP have contributed to the development of a sustainable global society by dispatching representatives to science steering committees, planning international research programs, fostering young researchers, and supporting research exchanges. The achievements and a prospects of the SCOSTEP will be introduced in a five-minute presentation, and the session will conclude with a discussion on the future promotion of international activities through the SCJ.
