[G-01] Information Design in the Contents of Earth Science Education
Sun. May 21, 2023 10:15 AM - 10:30 AM 103 (International Conference Hall, Makuhari Messe)
With the development of information technology, the amount of information contained in various sources has increased dramatically. This development has also resulted in a shift in transmitting information from a unidirectional flow to interactive network media. Against the background of such advanced information technology, the digitalization of teaching materials and utilization of network media with communication functions have come to be seen in contents related to earth science. These changes have essentially contributed towards improving overall learning.
On the other hand, there are some cases whereby humans become confused by a large amount of information due to digital distribution or cases in which human error occurs due to the inconsistency of or errors in mental models.
In this session, information will be exchanged on a variety of contents (teaching materials, hazard maps, disaster prevention signs, disaster prevention portals, etc.) in areas related to earth science from the viewpoint of information technology and information design. Additionally, measures for promoting effective teaching to promote general understanding will be discussed.
We welcome a wide range of presentations and cross-disciplinary discussion, from research to deepen understanding of Information Designs in Earth Science, in Disaster Prevention, in education and in topics related to social contribution.
