[AHW21-P02] MUST Software Applications to Three-Dimensional Multispecies Transport of Radionuclide Decay Chain Through Subsurface Environment
キーワード:MUST, analytical solution, Graphical User Interface, multispecies transport, Radionuclide Decay Chain
MUST (MUltiSpecies Transport Analytical Models) is a computer software for evaluating multispecies transport of chemical mixture comprised of the sequentially decaying reaction products using analytical solutions of a set of coupled advection-dispersion solute transport equations subject to different time-dependent source boundary conditions. MUST contains a Fortran code of Liao et al. (2021) for analytically modeling of multispecies transport with a constant concentration source applied at the inlet boundary. MUST also contains two Fortran codes of analytical multispecies transport model developed by Liao et al. (unpublished) considering both exponential decay and piece wise constant time-dependent boundary conditions. A Graphical User Interface (GUI) was developed for the three Fortran codes using C Sharp (C#) and Visualization Toolkit (VTK). The user-friendly GUI can manage transport parameters and geometry of a groundwater system using a visually intuitive data entry screen, and visualize the analytical modeling results in a variety of displaying ways including breakthrough curves, spatial concentration profiles as well as animations of simultaneous plume migrations so that the user can use it to evaluate the simultaneous plume migration of all the contaminants involved in decay reaction network. In this study we apply MUST to develop an illustrative example that simulates the three-dimensional plume migration of a radionuclide decay chain on both the temporal and spatial scales.
