[HDS05-12] Detection of seismic waves excited from intermediate-scale landslides

Detection of seismic waves from large-scale landslides (> 106 m3) such as deep-seated ones by Japanese routine seismic observation network have been reported (Yamada et al., 2012, Doi and Maeda, 2020). For utilization of automated landslide detection by the routine seismic observation network, it is necessary to grasp how large landslides can be captured and whether the seismic sources are well constrained. This study focused on several intermediate-scale landslides (with a volume of around 104 m3) which took place during 2018-2022. Field surveys (e.g. Doi, 2023) were conducted for some of the landslides in order to grasp the landslide configuration and mechanisms. We compared these results with the amplitudes and dominant frequencies of the seismic waves, and epicentral distances to interpret the detectability of the intermediate-scale landslides.
