[PEM12-P33] The formation and evolution of the ionospheric sporadic E layers

In this talk, I will briefly introduce (within 10 minutes) the progress of sporadic E layer (Es) research from my research team. Based on observations and simulations, we mainly studied the structure and formation mechanism of Es layers. It mainly includes the global morphology and dynamic characteristics of Es layer occurrence and wind shear, the horizontal structure of Es layers, the response of Es layers to the annular solar eclipse over eastern China on June 21, 2020, and the roles of electric field and gravity waves on the Es layer formation.
