[M-IS12] Paleoclimatology and paleoceanography

Wed. May 29, 2024 5:15 PM - 6:45 PM Poster Hall (Exhibition Hall 6, Makuhari Messe)

convener:Atsuko Yamazaki(Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Nagoya University), Yusuke Okazaki(Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Graduate School of Science, Kyushu University), Hitoshi Hasegawa(Faculty of Science and Technology, Kochi University), Takashi Obase(Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute, The University of Tokyo)

We discuss past environmental changes and events at interannual to tectonic timescale toward understanding Earth's climate system by integrating terrestrial and marine proxy studies and numerical modeling. At JpGU2024, in addition to the regular session, we will have a topic session on the interdisciplinary of paleoclimatology and paleoceanography with the invitation to researchers from archeology and anthropology using paleoclimatic and paleoceanographic methods in their research. We hope this session will provide an opportunity to promote communication between participants from the multidisciplinary field.
