Keywords:perennial snow patch, ice core, pollen analysis, transformation of firn to ice

To know the transformation of firn to ice on the glacier and snow patch, we drilled ice cores (706 cm and 330 cm) on14-15 October and 18 September 2023 for Shakushizawa snow patch. We measured density, water content, pollen analysis and oxygen isotope ratio analysis for two ice cores. As a result of these analyses, the peak pollen concentration and the dirty layer do not match. This result shows that if the dirty layer is used to be an annual layer boundary, the years of layers may be underestimated.
