[O08-P75] Origin of Hot Spring Water and Sustainability of Hot Spring Resources in Senami Onsen, Niigata

*Shintaro Kikuchi1 (1.Ichikawagakuen Ichikawa high school)

Keywords:Senami Onsen, Origin of Hot Spring Water

The Senami Onsen hot springs can be divided into two groups based on the depth of excavation. This study is collected hot spring water from each group and analyzed the trace constituents to verify the differences in hot spring constituents and their origins. The purpose of this study is to clarify the sustainability of the hot spring water in the future, more than 50 years after the report of decline in the hot spring discharge line. The experimental results showed no clear difference in the hot spring constituents between the two groups of Senami Onsen. In addition, magnesium ion (Mg2+) in the spring water is much lower than that in seawater, but the origin of the spring water would be seawater. These results suggest that hot spring water can be used without depletion if the discharge is appropriately restricted.
