[O08-P87] Visualizing Light Pollution~Exploring the Effects of High-Intensity Lamps~
Keywords:Light pollution
Our school is located in the suburbs of Tokyo and has bright city lights, which has felt its influence during astronomical observations. To research the brightness of the night sky, the seniors of our school’s Astronomy Meteorology Club developed a device to take regular photographs of the sky in the direction of central Tokyo 30km away and the suburbs 70 km away from 2020 using a single-lens reflex camera. It was found that the reflection of city lights caused by clouds has a significant effect on the brightness of the night sky. The astronomy club also created their own brightness classes and researched the effects of high intensity lamps, which have increased in recent years. In addition to continuously analyzing the brightness of the night sky for three years in this study, a new automatic photography of the zenith direction was started using HQ camera to visualize the changes. In addition to continuously analyzing the brightness of the night sky for three years in this study, a new automatic photography of the zenith direction was started using a HQ camera to visualize the changes. In addition, the effects of high-intensity lamps in the schoolyard were further analyzed.
