[SSS10-P10] Seismic hazard assessment of Southern Sichuan industrial area considering earthquake swarm seismicity

This study conducted an analysis of seismic swarm seismicity in South Sichuan industrial area, and established a potential source area division model and seismic activity parameter model considering seismic swarm activity. Analyzed the applicability of the ground motion prediction equation (GMPE) model (named as Xiao2022Chuan) established for small earthquake clusters in the southern Sichuan industrial area, and used this attenuation relationship to conduct probabilistic seismic hazard calculation and assessment. A probability seismic hazard map of the southern Sichuan region considering earthquake swarm seismicity was drawn, and the result was compared with the result by the GMPE used in the fifth generation of Chinese national seismic hazard map. This study considers the focal depth of earthquake swarm seismicity, and assumes that all earthquakes have the same focal depth when calculating seismic hazard. Further research is needed to determine how the difference in source depth of earthquake swarm should be reflected in seismic hazard assessment.
