[P22] Photo-Induced Ammonia Synthesis using Oxyhydride Supported Metal Catalysts
Keywords:oxyhydride catalyst, photo-induced ammonia synthesis, electron donation
In this study, the development and investigation of photo-induced ammonia synthesis catalysts were conducted. In the case of catalysts loaded with Ru on Cerium oxyhydride(Ru/CeH3-2xOx), light irradiation increased ammonia synthesis activity at 187 ºC by more than 10 times. In addition, the activation energy or reaction order of ammonia synthesis is clearly changing by light irradiation, and photo-induced ammonia synthesis suggested that it has a different reaction mechanism from thermocatalytic ammonia synthesis.
Ni/CeH3-2xOx showed activity over Ru/CeH3-2xOx at low temperatures. Ni-supported catalysts showed different responsiveness to reaction conditions compared to Ru-supported catalysts, suggesting that there are differences in reaction mechanisms between the two.
