The number of patients with autism spectrum disorders are increasing. In this situation, the shortage of professional doctors and other medical professionals has become a serious social problem. Task shifting has become an issue, but considering a shortage of not only doctors but also other professions, task shifting is difficult. Expectations of task shifting to robots in the field of special education are high. We have done many research about robotic intervention for patients with autism spectrum disorders. In this session, we will report on the practice of symbiosis of humanoid robots and patients with autism spectrum disorders in the field of special education.
