[1M3-GS-10-04] A prediction method of traffic flow considering time lag of probe data collection

We are studying a traffic flow prediction method using probe data with the aim of providing accurate road traffic information to contribute to traffic congestion mitigation and traffic accident reduction. In this paper, we describes a method for predicting traffic flow for traffic congestion and how it handles time lag of probe data collection, and reports the results of an evaluation of traffic flow when traffic congestion occurs, using actual probe data. In some cases, time lag of probe data collection prevented good predictions of traffic flow. In this study, we confirmed that the prediction method that takes into account time lag of probe data collection made it possible to predict the traffic flow closer to the actual measurements.
