In recent years, educational support robots have been developed to support various types of human education. In conventional robots, the learner often answers the number of problems presented by the robot in an active learning environment. On the other hand, in order to enhance the motivation and effectiveness of learning, it is important for learners to learn by voluntarily deciding the number of problems to be solved (the number of solved problems). In this study, we propose a method of negotiating the number of problems to be solved while talking with the learner (hereinafter referred to as the "proposed method") in order to promote spontaneous learning. In this paper, we investigate the change in the number of problems given to junior high school students by a robot equipped with the proposed method (the proposed robot) in comparison with a conventional robot. The experimental results suggest that the number of solved problems by junior high school students improves when they learn with the proposed robot compared to that with the conventional robot.
