During the past decades, valid control the scattering of the nanoscale dimensions under the visible light region is an important improvement of apparatus miniaturization for communication and sensor applications. One of the most promising approaches is resonant plasmonic nanostructures owing to the ability of trapping and concentrating visible light at sub-wavelength dimensions. There were electric and magnetic dipolar resonances existing in dielectric nanostructures, while the nanostructures were excited by a polarized light or non-polarized light. The coherent effect between electric dipole and magnetic dipole will be utilized to control the scattered radiation, as predicted by Kerker et al for a long time. In this study, we observed the forward scattering and the backward scattering for silicon nanosphere in both normally incident and obliquely incident in total internal reflection.
