[16p-2V-11] Sensitivity of Mammalian Cells to Chemical Reactive Species Produced in Solution by Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Irradiation

Non-equilibrium atmospheric-pressure plasma has recently emerged as a novel tool in medicine. We have previously reported that spatially-selective transfer of genes and drugs is realized by use of the plasma irradiation and one of the factors is chemical reactive species in liquid. The presentation will contain the mechanism of cell response to the reactive species in liquid, focusing on the intracellular calcium concentration ([Ca²⁺]_i) which is considered to regulate various cell functions.
