We recently observed a characteristic heat generation of the sample composed of layered heterojunctions of two different materials, even in case both possesses low microwave absorptivity. We proposed a mechanism of characteristic heating based on the dielectric loss of interface dipoles-perturbed by oscillating MW electric field. In this study, we investigated the interfacial microwave heating in platinum nanoparticles deposited on oxide substrates. The effects of the interface characteristics, facet orientation, oxidation level of metal, and deposition process of metal on the interfacial MW heating are discussed to elucidate the origin of MW heating at the interface.
