[20a-H135-6] Spatial signal distribution in heterodyne electro-optic sampling of the THz waves

We report detailed measurements of spatial distribution of non-collinear heterodyne EO sampling signal in detection of THz pulsed radiation. It was found that two maxima of EO signal, corresponding to the sum and difference frequency processes, appear at the very low intensity tail of the probe beam distribution. We discuss the optimization of probe beam optics based on the obtained results.
