[20p-KD-9] Arc production of carbon nano-materials under micro-gravity condition

Tetsu Mieno1 (1.GSST, Shizuoka Univ.)

Keywords:production of nano-material,arc discharge under gravity-fee condition,space activity

People are going to do new space activities soon. To do long-time activities on space stations, moon bases and mars bases, many kinds of new technologies should be developed. Here, I will introduce about material productions by arc discharge using space solar energy. Especially, I will talk about high-quality and high-efficiency production of nano-materials like carbon nanotubes, in high-temperature gas reactions under gravity-free and convection-free condition. We did the experiments using a vertical swing tower and jet planes, and intersting result could be obtained.
