In a low-aspect ratio pore sensors, the access resistance change during particle translocation complicates the understanding of ionic current signatures as even difference in the particle positions near the pore would largely influence the current blockage. In the present study, we developed a quadrupole electrode embedded micropore. This novel sensor enables fine control of the transverse motions of particles while they translocate through a low-aspect ratio pore thereby suppressing variation in the ionic current spike waveforms in the pre-translocation regime.
