[7p-A202-9] Superconductivity of LaO epitaxial thin film

Rock-salt structure LaO has been known as an insulating block layer contained in a layered structure typified by a high-temperature superconductor (La, Sr)2CuO4. On the other hand, since the bulk polycrystalline LaO sample was synthesized in 1980, the single phase of LaO has been not reported and the detailed physical properties are not known. In this report, we have succeeded in synthesizing a high quality LaO epitaxial thin film by pulsed laser deposition method and report that it shows superconductivity with a transition temperature of about 4.5 K at the maximum.
