We have fabricated successfully core-dual shell type hybridized nanoparticles (NPs) having Au-core/dye-doped silica shell/Au shell (densely deposited Au NPs). The resulting NPs exhibited evidently the about 20-folds enhancement of fluorescence intensity, increase in fluorescence quantum yield, and decrease in fluorescence lifetime, compared with the referred NPs, due to optical electric-fields enlarged by localized surface plasmon resonance coupling interaction in core-dual shell type nanostructure. More detailed elucidation concerning enhancement mechanism would provide the possibility of photonic device application as a high-performance point light source in the near future.
