Infrared luminescence phenomena in femtosecond region are important for development of light emitting materials and optical elements operating in the optical telecommunication band. However, these phenomena have not been well understood mainly because rather sophisticated measurement methods are required. Here, we develop a simplified equipment for measurement of IR luminescence under IR excitation, based on a mode-locked Yb fiber laser (wavelength = 1.04 microns). We will report on a compact system constructed within one square meter including laser system.
