Microchannel plates (MCP) are the key component for many spatially resolved single-particle detectors especially ICCD or I-sCMOS cameras with image intensifiers (II). Spatial light characterizaiton with such devices is severely limited by cross-talk between MCP microchannels limitng their ability to measure light autocorrelation. Here, we present a cross-talk subtraction method applied for an I-sCMOS measurement of pseudo-thermal light second-order intensity autocorrelation function at the single-photon level. Cross-talk mitigation requires merely a simple dark counts calibration measurement. The method is certified with a reference cross-talk free cross-correlation measurement. The presented method offers simplification of quantum optical setups relying on correlation measurements removing the necessity to divide light into two camera regions for a cross-correlation measurement thus reducing the experimental setup complexity and increasing at least twofold the simultaneously employable camera sensor region
