▲ [19p-221B-8] See-Through Aerial Display with AIRR by Using Retro-Reflector as a Speaker
Keywords:Aerial image, AIRR
Aerial imaging by retro-reflection (AIRR) is the method to form an aerial image using a retro-reflector. Use of polarization modulation in AIRR, which is called polarized AIRR (pAIRR), increases visibility of the formed aerial image. The aerial image formed by AIRR has a wide visible angle from the front to the left and right. However, when using the formed aerial image for interpersonal interface, the conventional AIRR had the problem that the user on the opposite side cannot see the aerial image. In this paper, we propose a new aerial display that can see the aerial image and the user's gesture from the opposite side improved from the conventional AIRR. Furthermore, we constructed a system in which we can feel the sound as it comes from the direction of aerial image, even when the aerial display is viewed from either the front side or the opposite side, a system constructed in which the sound hear to come from a direction of an aerial image. My combing the method of vibrating the retro-reflector in AIRR and using it as a speaker.
