[21p-234A-16] Brillouin scattering microscopy for elasticity mapping in multicellular systems
Keywords:Brillouin scattering, acoustic phonon, bioimaging
In order to establish methodology for mechanical property measurement of cells in multicellular systems, we have successfully developed an optical microscope for elasticity mapping based on Brillouin scattering. We designed optical systems for microscope and spectrometer for measurement of biological cells and tissues, which are highly-scattering media, and realized imaging of elasticity distribution. We found that cells have a great diversity of elasticity in the multicellular system.
