Coating of organic, inorganic, and metal materials on various flexible substrates and suppression of degradation in flexible devices are key issues to develop next-generation high-performance flexible devices. However, quantitative understanding of bending devices has not been made clear. In this study, we introduce our recent approach to analyze surface strain of bending flexible films, which might enable strategic design of flexible devices by suppression of bending induced surface strain.
