Keywords:flexible device, resistive strain sensor, electronic whisker

In this study, we propose an electronic whisker (e-whisker) fabricated by low-cost and large-area process. By integrating out-of-plane whisker structure and four strain sensors, the e-whisker can detect the force direction and amplitude. When the whisker is bent, tensile or compressive strain is applied to the porous graphene strain sensor, resulting in that resistance is changed depending on the applied force direction and amplitude. In addition to the fundamental characteristics, real-time bending monitoring was successfully demonstrated like an animal whiskers.
