▼ [11a-M101-7] Efficient spin-to-charge current conversion in a La0.67Sr0.33MnO3/LaAlO3/SrTiO3 epitaxial single-crystal heterostructure
キーワード:spin orbit interaction, spin-to-charge conversion, spin pumping
The perovskite-oxide interface between LaAlO3 (LAO) and SrTiO3 (STO), both of which are insulators, is known to have a two-dimensional-electron gas (2DEG). The 2DEG has the strong Rashba spin-orbit interaction, which makes the LAO/STO interface attractive for efficient spin-to-charge conversion. We have used La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 (LSMO) as a spin injection source, which is a half metallic ferromagnetic perovskite oxide that can be epitaxially grown on LAO and STO. Using ozone-assisted molecular-beam epitaxy, we have grown a high-quality all epitaxial LSMO (30 u.c.)/LAO (2 u.c.) heterostructure on a TiO2-terminated STO (001) substrate. We successufully get the spin-to-charge conversion signal by spin pumping measurements. The spin-to-charge conversion efficiency (inverse Edelstein length) λIEE, which is defined as the generated current density (Am–1) divided by the injected spin-current density (Am–2), is estimated to be 4.0 nm at 20 K.
