Nanowires are expected to be applied as high-sensitivity sensors because of their large surface area. We have been studying the fabrication of silver nanowires using a chemical pen and their applications to sensors. The chemical pen is a technique that can draw patterns in micrometers or smaller at arbitrary positions without using lithography. In this study, we constructed a drawing system and investigated the conditions for the fabrication of gold nanowires as the basic technology for the fabrication of gold nanowires using a chemical pen.
