In order to achieve nuclear power plant decommissioning, we are developing a radiation detector that can operate in a high dose rate field, consisting of a scintillator and an optical fiber. The scintillator must be sensitive to neutrons and gamma rays that are expected to exist inside the reactor, and must emit red light with high transmission efficiency in the optical fiber. We have developed Li2Hf(Br,I)6 for this purpose. In this talk, we will discuss the luminescence and scintillation properties of Li2Hf(Br,I)6.
