Frequency entanglement is a important phenomenon that brings quantum properties to classical applications. In a previous work, we reported a demonstration of high efficiency and broadband frequency correlated photon pair collinear generation using a ridge-waveguide- based chirped quasi-phase matching (QPM) device. Because collinearly emitted photon pairs cannot be employed directly in applications such as QOCT, we developed a slab waveguide based chirped QPM device for highly efficient ultra-broadband frequency correlated photon generation. With a high generation efficiency and a boardband spectral bandwidth, the photons were emitted into different spatial modes. This device can be employed as a photon pair source for high-resolution and high speed QOCT.
