We present a Kerr-lens mode-locked Tm3+:Lu2O3/Yb3+:Sc2O3 laser for observation of the two-photon stimulated emission. We used a Tm3+:Lu2O3 and a Yb3+:Sc2O3 simultaneously in the same cavity. The Tm3+:Lu2O3 serves as a general gain medium for 2 mm laser emission, and we expected the Yb3+:Sc2O3 could contribute to the amplification of 2 mm emission by two-photon stimulated emission. However, no amplification by two-photon process have been observed in the current configuration.
In my talk, I will give an introduction of the concept of this study and show the experimental results of the Kerr-lens mode-locked laser.
