[23a-A401-2] Heterojunction formation and oxidation/reduction surface control inside a single tungsten trioxide nanorod
Keywords:photocatalyst, tungsten trioxide
Tungsten trioxide nanorods (WO3 NRs), one of visible-light responsive photcatalysts, were hydrothermally synthesized with oxalic acid as a structure-directing reagent, and then the control of their structures and crystalline phases was executed. Their structures and physical properties were assessed, and the results revealed that WO3 NRs consisted of mixture of hexagonal and triclinic phase, the ratio of which was changed depending on oxalic acid concentration. Moreover, it was confirmed that hexagonal and triclinic phase were spatially separated in a single nanorod, and that photocatalytic redox surfaces in WO3 NRs were switched depending on WO3 NRs’ crystalline phase ratio.
