The microparticles formed by near-infrared laser irradiation of a thermo-responsive polymer/alcohol/water tri-component solution enable highly efficient extraction and sensitive measurement of dissolved substances in the surrounding solution due to the synergistic effect of alcohol and thermo-responsive polymer. We report on the extraction and detection of trace substances at the single-molecule level using these microparticles as an analytical field.
