[17a-A305-4] First-principles calculation for nonlinear nanophotonics devices.

Mitsuharu Uemoto1, Koki Kihara1 (1.Kobe Univ.)

Keywords:first-principles, nonlinear optics

There has been much interest in the optical properties of nanostructures (e.g. nanoparticles and metasurfaces), and recently second harmonic generation (SHG) and higher harmonic generation (HHG) by semiconductor nanoparticles and metasurfaces have been experimentally observed. In this study, we propose a multiscale method that combines first-principles electron dynamics calculation and time-domain finite difference (FDTD) electromagnetic field calculations; it can treat the nonlinear optical properties of such nanostructures.
