Quantum interfaces and quantum repeaters will play a pivotal role in future long-distance quantum networks and large-scale quantum computation [1,2]. An AlN-diamond hybrid platform can offer the possibility of coherently converting a microwave photon carrying information from a superconducting quantum processor to an optical photon capable of traveling over a long distance, and vice versa [3]. We previously reported a design of PhC nanobeam cavity exhibiting a high Purcell factor in an AlN-diamond hybrid platform [4]. However, the optical field is confined by the spatial mismatch between the cavity mode and the bulk modes, not by the photonic bandgap (PBG) effect. Here, we present a design of a nanocavity formed in an AlN-diamond hybrid PhC nanobeam structure possessing a complete PBG.
