[17a-D511-5] Controlling the switching temperature via order-order transition in organic-based thermal switch material
Keywords:Thermal switch, Block copolymer, Thermal conductivity
Thermal swith is drawing much attention as one of the thermal management devices, which can control the heat flow efficiently. In the thermal switch driven by a trigger of temperature, it was reported that a critical temperature, at which thermal conductivity is changed, could be controlled theoretically. However, no studies have demonstrated the control of critical temperature experimentally. This study paid attention to liquid crystalline block copolymer, which causes the order-order transition at the transition temperature. This transition temperature is controlled by changing the type of mesogens in the side chain of the liquid crystalline part. By using the features of liquid crystalline block copolymer, we demonstrate that the critical temperature can be controlled freely.
