Basic research on the development of immunosynbiotics.

[Purpose] Immunosynbiotics, the combination of immunobiotics and immunoprebiotics were promoted to be positive candidate for alternative for antibiotics in livestock production. In this research, 12 immunobiotic strains (Lactobacillus sp.) isolated from porcine feces were evaluated by in vitro abilities to assimilate wakame (immunoprebiotics), aiming to select the candidates to develop the immunosynbiotics.
[Method] Assimilation ability of different strains in enzyme-treated wakame broth and consumption of sugar was analyzed by OD and thin-layer chromatography experiments. Morphology during growth in wakame broth were observed.
[Result] Assimilation abilities of wakame were strain-dependent. Different strains were effective in utilizing the saccharides from wakame, and the morphology of the strains were obviously different in wakame compared to MRS broth. These results showed that the growth of different species related to the assimilation ability of different strains.
