The cells in multicellular organisms adhere to each other to form a body. Cell adhesion involves both "cell-cell" and "cell-ECM" connections and plays an important role not only in cell assembly but also in the development, growth, and homeostasis of multicellular organisms. In this symposium, we would like to focus on various biological phenomena regulated by cell adhesion and discuss new perspectives in adhesion phenomena in multicellular systems.
