[CS2-29] Influence of fine shredded paper on the compaction properties of natural soil
Keywords:Fine shredded paper, Compaction properties, Water absorption
This study investigated the changes in compaction properties of decomposed granite soil, which was sieved to under 4.75 mm, when Fine Shredded Paper (FSP) was added to it. It was found out that the maximum dry density of soil which is 2.67 g/cm3 decreased by 41%, and optimum water content which is 11.5% increased by 54%, when 20% FSP content was employed. A non-linear relationship was used to describe the correlation of maximum dry density and/or optimum water content to FSP amount.
