[I-18] Effect of yield surface distorsion on plastic behaviors of rubber materials
Keywords:rubber materials, rubber bearings, yield condition, stress-strain relation
It is necessary for seismic design of bridges to evaluate their deformation and failure characteristics of rubber bearings accurately. This requires superelasticity and plastic behavior in the range of several hundred percent strain. The authors have been studying this problem paying particular attentions to the Mullins effect. However, with a simple isotropic kinematic flow theory, it is difficult to reproduce deformation behaviors when strain is very large. In this study, distortion of yield surface is introduced to the plasticity model to remedy this problem.
