[24007-12-02] Inverse analysis of nonlinear behavior for railway poles built on bridges under train passages (Proceedings of Symposium on Applied Mechanics)
Keywords:Resonance, Natural Frequency, Railway Pole, TV-ARX, Bayesian Estimation
Significant railway poles vibration under the resonance can cause the excessive stress on the wire supported by the poles. This study proposes a Time-Varying Auto Regressive eXogenous (TV-ARX) model that evaluates the pole stiffness increased when restrained by the wire. The proposed model is obtained by reformulation of existing model, such that the bridge deformation is replaced by the excitation force on the pole. The model is validated using a bridge-pole numerical simulation. The results show that the model can estimate the instantaneous pole stiffness increase and specify the pole displacements where the nonlinearity begins to occur.
